Athletech Initiate Pre-Workout 30 Serves

Top Benefits of Initiate

4g L-citrulline, 3.2g beta-alanine and 200mg caffeine per 12.6g scoop, across 30 serves. Every batch screened against 250+ WADA-prohibited substances, and every dose printed on the label.

The Pump

More Blood, More Muscle

Your muscles only get what your blood delivers. 4g of citrulline widens the pipes so more of it arrives, while HydroPrime® glycerol and rock salt pull extra water into the muscle. More blood means more oxygen and more fuel reaching the muscle you're working.

Endurance

The Burn Comes Later

Every hard set builds up acid inside the muscle - that acid is the burn, and it's what makes you rack the bar early. 3.2g of beta-alanine builds a buffer that soaks some of it up. The burn still comes. It just comes later.

Clean Energy

Sharp, Not Wired

200mg of caffeine - about a strong coffee, and the point where research says the benefit stops climbing. Backed by theobromine, TyroPure® tyrosine and taurine for the focus side. Enough to train hard. Not enough to be staring at the ceiling at eleven.

Initiate VS Typical Pre-Workouts

Typical Pre-Workouts
Banned-Substance Testing
Every batch screened by a NATA-accredited lab against 250+ substances on the WADA prohibited list
Only a minority of pre-workouts on the shelf carry any banned-substance certification at all
Dosing Under Certification
Certified AND fully dosed - 4g L-citrulline, 3.2g beta-alanine, printed per serve
Certified options tend to play it safe - lighter doses across the board
Label Transparency
Every ingredient carries its own milligram figure - no proprietary blends
"Proprietary blend" totals hide how much of each ingredient you actually get
Caffeine Per Serve
200mg - about a strong coffee, where research says the benefit stops climbing
Often 300-400mg stim loads - more side effects, not more performance
The Focus Stack
Theobromine, TyroPure® tyrosine, taurine and SalidroPure® salidroside alongside the caffeine
Caffeine alone doing all the work
Sweeteners & Colours
Thaumatin (natural sweetener) with beetroot, spirulina and beta carotene colours
Artificial colours and sweeteners are the default

How Initiate Works

One 12.6g scoop in 200-350ml of cold water, 30 minutes before training. Four things happen when you take it - here's the chain, ingredient by printed ingredient.

  • The Pump
  • The Buffer
  • The Signal
Initiate pump stack - citrulline widens blood vessels while glycerol pulls water into the muscle
1

Widen The Pipes

L-citrulline 4000mg · HydroPrime® 1000mg · rock salt 200mg

Citrulline widens the blood vessels so more blood arrives at the working muscle. Glycerol and salt pull extra water into the muscle, so there's more to deliver in the first place. That's the pump - and it isn't just for the mirror: more blood means more oxygen and more fuel.

Initiate beta-alanine buffer soaking up the acid that causes the burn
2

Build The Buffer

Beta-alanine 3200mg, daily

Beta-alanine works by building up in the muscle over four to eight weeks of daily use - rest days included. Once it's there, it buffers the acid that hard sets produce, so the burn arrives later and the set ends when the muscle is done, not when the sting is. The tingle some people feel is called paraesthesia. It's normal and harmless.

Initiate caffeine and focus stack blocking the tired signal
3

Block The Tired Signal

Caffeine 200mg · theobromine 150mg · TyroPure® 1000mg · taurine 1000mg · SalidroPure® 20mg

Caffeine doesn't add energy - it blocks the signal that tells your brain it's tired. 200mg is about a strong coffee, where research says the benefit levels off. Theobromine acts more slowly and hangs around longer, tyrosine feeds the drive-and-focus chemicals hard training burns through, and salidroside is the isolated active from rhodiola.

Tested Usually Means Smaller Doses. Not This Time.

Only a minority of the pre-workouts on the shelf carry any banned-substance certification, and the ones that do tend to play it safe everywhere - lighter doses across the board. Initiate keeps the citrulline at 4g and the beta-alanine at 3.2g, screens every batch against 250+ WADA-prohibited substances, and prints every figure on the back of the tub.
"Energy blend" here is a heading, not a hiding place.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Initiate?

Initiate is a HASTA-certified pre-workout that delivers 4g of L-citrulline, 3.2g of beta-alanine and 200mg of caffeine in a single 12.6g scoop, across 30 serves. It comes in three flavours - Grape, Raspberry and Tropical - and every dose is printed on the label.

What's actually in it?

The energy blend, with every milligram printed: L-citrulline (90% fermented) 4000mg, beta-alanine 3200mg, taurine 1000mg, TyroPure® L-tyrosine 1000mg, HydroPrime® glycerol 1000mg, theobromine 150mg, Himalayan rock salt 200mg, SalidroPure® salidroside 20mg and caffeine 200mg. Beyond that: natural flavour, malic acid, natural colours (beetroot, blue spirulina or beta carotene depending on flavour), thaumatin as a natural sweetener, and silica. The full per-flavour panels are in the product gallery.

Why only 200mg of caffeine?

Because that's the point where the research says the benefit stops climbing. 200mg is about what's in a strong coffee - enough to train hard, not enough to still be staring at the ceiling at eleven. Past that you get more side effects, not more performance.

Is Initiate banned-substance tested?

Yes. Initiate is a HASTA-certified product: every batch is screened by an independent NATA-accredited laboratory against more than 250 substances on the WADA prohibited list. Certification usually comes with smaller doses - this one keeps the citrulline at 4g and the beta-alanine at 3.2g.

What that covers: banned substances, batch by batch - not a one-off sample from the first production run. What it doesn't: HASTA screens for prohibited substances. It isn't a check on potency, efficacy or label accuracy, and no testing programme can guarantee a product is completely free of every substance.

What will I feel on day one?

The pump, the energy and the focus arrive from the first scoop - citrulline, glycerol and caffeine all work same-day. The beta-alanine doesn't: it works by building up in the muscle over four to eight weeks of daily use. That's why the label says take it daily, rest days included.

Why do I get a tingling feeling?

Some people get a pins-and-needles feeling across the face, neck or hands about fifteen minutes in. It's called paraesthesia, it's caused by the beta-alanine, and it's harmless. Starting with half a scoop keeps it mild while you get used to it.

Why take it on rest days?

Beta-alanine only works once it has accumulated in the muscle, and that takes consistent daily intake over four to eight weeks. Skip the rest days and the level drops. On days you don't train, a half scoop still counts toward the build-up.

How does 4g of citrulline compare to citrulline malate?

Ours is free-form L-citrulline. Citrulline malate is citrulline bonded to malic acid, so only part of the stated weight is actually citrulline - in the common 2:1 form, about two thirds of it. 4g of free-form citrulline means the full 4g is citrulline.

How do I take it?

Mix 12.6g (about one level scoop) into 200-350ml of cold water, 30 minutes before training. If you're new to pre-workout or sensitive to caffeine, start with half a scoop and see how you respond. Do not exceed 2 scoops per day.

Can I train in the evening on it?

Caffeine hangs around for hours, so Initiate suits morning or early-afternoon sessions best. If you train late and caffeine genuinely doesn't affect your sleep, that's your call - but if you lie awake after evening coffee, don't expect this to be different.

Do the flavours differ nutritionally?

The energy blend is identical across Grape, Raspberry and Tropical - same 4g citrulline, same 3.2g beta-alanine, same 200mg caffeine. The differences are cosmetic: Grape is coloured with beetroot and blue spirulina, Raspberry with beetroot, and Tropical with beta carotene. All three use thaumatin, a natural sweetener.

Can I stack Initiate with creatine or protein?

Yes. Initiate covers the session itself - pump, endurance, energy, focus. Creatine and protein work on a different timescale, so they sit alongside it without conflict. A common Athletech stack is Initiate pre-workout with Pürest Creatine daily and ISO27 after training.

Who shouldn't take it?

Initiate contains caffeine and is not intended for children or anyone sensitive to caffeine. Pregnant or nursing women, anyone with a medical condition, and anyone taking medication should check with a healthcare professional before use.
